New more cost effective Wisenet Lite portfolio from Samsung

The new series of Wisenet Lite IP cameras from Samsung Techwin America includes 1.3 MP and 2 MP full HD IP cameras available in a number of configurations and feature sets at what the company believes to be an extremely competitive price point.

“Everything is about to change with the introduction of our new Wisenet Lite. The new line delivers a megapixel imaging solution that brings Samsung quality and reliability at incredibly low price points. Wisenet Lite will dramatically increase the number of IP system installations in the small business market (SMB), and provide the perfect solution as secondary cameras in larger systems,” said Tom Cook, Vice President of Sales, North America, Samsung Techwin America. “Users will benefit from the extreme value proposition, and resellers will benefit from new business opportunities with the numerous SMBs in their backyards.”

The 10 cameras introduced to launch the new Wisenet Lite IP megapixel camera line fall into four camera styles; indoor domes (SND-L5013 and SND-L6013), indoor domes with infrared illumination (SND-L5083R, SND-L6013R and SND-L6083R), outdoor IP66 rated vandal domes with infrared illumination (SNV-L5083R and SNV- L6083R) and IP66 rated bullet cameras (SNO-L5083R, SNO-L6013R and SNO-L6083R).

Wisenet Lite cameras feature 60dB digital wide dynamic range (DWDR), which fine-tunes contrast to ensure high-quality detail in the darkest and brightest portions of an image. To further enhance image quality, lens distortion correction (LDC) compensates for image distortion that can occur with wide angle lenses.

The new WisenetLite cameras also offer the ability to record anytime and anywhere via built-in SD card slot or NAS direct recording capability. For enhanced storage reliability, automatic remote backup (ARB) will back up and restore video from SD memory upon video loss due to network disruption. Users can also perform backup manually as needed. This feature also makes it possible for end users to save on storage costs by building an entirely server-less system. Monitoring zone optimisation also reduces bandwidth and storage requirements, further enhancing the cost-effectiveness of the new Wisenet Lite line.

Wisenet Lite cameras also feature a hallway view feature which provides 9:16 ratio coverage of narrow aisles and passageways to expand vertical monitoring zones. Bullet IR and indoor dome IR cameras are equipped with either fixed or varifocal lenses, while indoor dome cameras include a fixed lens, and outdoor dome IR cameras feature a varifocal lens.

Other key features of the new Wisenet Lite cameras include: motion and tamper detection; true day/night performance; ONVIF conformance; IP66 and IK10 ratings with an ambient operating temperature as low as -22° F (outdoor models only).
