Berce most recently served as vice president of Business and Technology Services for Abbott Laboratories. She joined Abbott in 1996 and has held a number of leadership positions including serving as the company's chief information officer where she was responsible for the IT, cyber security, digital and analytic services organisations.

Berce earned bachelor's degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Information Systems from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She earned her master's degree in Mathematics from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.
