High-level crash-tested anti-terrorist vehicle blockers

Avon Barrier Company has chosen Ifsec West Africa to showcase its range of PAS68 (K8-K12 equivalent) crash-tested anti-terrorist vehicle blockers and associated Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) solutions. The move underlines the company's growing presence in Nigeria and West Africa.
Featured at Ifsec 06-07 March 2012 will be Avon Barrier’s SG1100CR High Impact Sliding Armoured Gate which is ideally suited to West Africa’s demanding security applications. The gate is designed to prevent unauthorized vehicle access, including terrorist attack. It can withstand direct impact forces, including extreme Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) attack. It is capable of resisting a 7500KG truck travelling at 40MPH.

The SG100CR is a specialist high-security product that incorporates a full impact resistance system which means that a wide range of gate heights and infills can be configured to meet individual site applications. According to Avon Barrier, this High Impact Security Gate provides robust heavily engineered protection for vehicle access routes, yet can be installed without the need for extensive civil engineering works, due to shallow footings requirement (less than 500mm overall depth).

As Mark Dachtler, International Business Development Manager for Avon Barrier Company Ltd., commented; “Ifsec West Africa is a great opportunity for us to highlight our full range of PAS68 crash-tested products, but particularly our high end vehicle access solutions, such as the SG1100CR High Impact Sliding Armoured Gate, which provides a proven and very visual deterrent to any potential attempted vehicle attack.”
