High-definition decoder

Hangzhou, China

Hikvision announces the release of its high-definition video/audio decoder - the DS-6308DI - at IFSEC, held May 10th to 13th in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

There is an increasing need for high-definition video surveillance, coupled with limited solutions for simultaneous multi-channel high-quality megapixel video display. Hikvision's new 8-channel network decoder DS-6308DI is designed to meet this need by adopting H.264/MPEG4 video codec and TI's high performance DM648 platform that delivers 4ch 720P or 8ch 4CIF or 16ch CIF decoding at full frame rate (NTSC/PAL). SVGA, VGA, 2CIF, DCIF and QCIF decoding resolutions are supported as well. The DS-6308DI decoder can convert high-definition digital image data to analog video signals -- video and audio from Hikvision DVRs, network cameras and encoders can then be displayed on the monitor via network transmission.

The DS-6308DI decoder supports both VGA and BNC video output simultaneously. Decoding features include cyclic decoding, dynamic decoding and passive decoding. The product features alarm relay and alarm buzzer should a malfunction such as network disconnection, IP address conflict or illegal access occur. Network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, DHCP, DDNS and multicast are supported for multiple video transmission and efficient network usage. Up to 32 users can be created with multi-user management, including 1 administrator and 31 users. Voice talk, PTZ control and high speed Ethernet interface (1000/100/10Mbps) are among the many features provided.

The DS-6308DI decoder offers an ideal solution for large-scale surveillance requirements, such as financial institutions, airports, transportation systems, prisons and more.
