Grandeye Ltd files legal complaint against Sentry 360 Security Inc

Guildford, Surrey, UK and Illinois, USA

Grandeye Ltd. has filed a complaint against Sentry 360 Security, Inc., in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleging patent infringement, the misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of contract. In addition to injunctive relief, the company seeks damages.
According to Grandeye Ltd, Sentry360 signed a nondisclosure agreement in 2006 to gain access to Grandeye’s proprietary technology and is alleged to have violated that agreement by misappropriating Grandeye’s information for use in its own products.

Grandeye has been a pioneer in the use of wide-angle imaging in the security, safety, liability protection and military markets, and has taken great care to protect its intellectual property, including by obtaining patent protection for its inventions and developments. Grandeye also holds exclusive rights within these markets to use the ITK (Imaging Tool Kit) from the former IPIX company.

“Grandeye’s management is determined to protect its intellectual property from the continued unlawful use by Sentry360,” said Paul Storm, partner, Storm LLP, a Dallas, Texas-based law firm that specialises in intellectual-property cases.

Grandeye is jointly owned by Oncam Global Group and Creative Technology Ltd.
