GE Security focuses on integrated solution at IFSEC

ZAVENTEM (Belgium)

GE's Security business (NYSE: GE) today announced it will highlight and introduce numerous advanced security products and systems providing complete integration and interoperability, from security subsystems through enterprise/IT solutions, at the IFSEC Show, May 8th - 11th at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England.

Leveraging scores of technologies, the GE Security exhibit, booth A140/A125, will feature components and systems that are delivering a safer Europe - with end-to-end solutions for personal safety, residences, public facilities and systems, and other critical infrastructures.
"Our new products and security solutions on display at IFSEC will reinforce our leadership in the security industry and provide show attendees with a snapshot of the breadth and depth of our offerings," said Louis Parker, President & CEO of GE Security. "I'm looking forward to attending IFSEC and meeting with customers and partners."
"GE Security now offers an expanded portfolio of integrated solutions for all types of security," said Bart Otten, President of GE Security EMEA. "Through organic growth and acquisition, we have developed, not only imaginative security solutions from explosives detection to sophisticated video and access control, but also a fully integrated Europe-based and focused GE Security team to help our customers here deploy them."
For example, GE's technologically advanced VisioWave Intelligent Video Platform (IVP), which handles large and complex applications, including more than 10,000 cameras on a single system, was acquired by GE in June of 2005 and is now being deployed throughout the world. Developed internally, the new SymSecure digital video management software uses the latest in IP-networking technology and works with GE's SymSuite of MPEG-4 digital video products to let users continue using their legacy analog equipment in an IP environment.
GE's new EntryScan4, the latest evolution of its popular no-touch, whole-body trace detection walk-through portal, brings enhanced flexibility and performance to GE's family of explosives detecting trace products. As the smallest and lightest trace portal, the EntryScan4 is uniquely suited to solving security challenges at Europe's airports, nuclear power plants, prisons and other space- and weight-restricted facilities.
GE's ATS Total Security System combines access control, intrusion detection, CCTV and communications into one integrated solution.
For the residential market, GE's PremisesConnect T application allows the user to remotely interact with his alarm system through an Internet browser. From a distance, arming or disarming the alarm system, switching X-10 devices or looking in the home through an IP camera becomes reality. VVMIQ is an on premise video alarm verification solution that embeds video technology into GE Security control panels. The concept incorporates an integrated PIR-camera sensor (PIRCAM) and GE Security's unique VideoIQ T technology. Together, these technologies verify human presence; VVMIQ can be deployed in residential and commercial premises.
"At IFSEC, we look forward to meeting our customers who use our video surveillance, access control, intrusion, explosives detection, and fire and safety offerings to create total solutions," said Otten. "Whatever the industry or scale of security needed, from a single family home to international, we are confident that attendees will be able to find a solution at our stand."
During IFSEC, GE Security president & CEO Louis Parker, and Bart Otten, president of GE Security EMEA, will be available for interviews with the press. For more information, please contact GE's public relations contacts.
