Emergency responder tracking system introduced to private security industry

USA, Michigan

Incident Command Technologies, Inc. an Emergency Service's Technology company in Southeastern Michigan recently released a new version of the Personnel Accountability Recorder (PAR), a windows-based software application for Firefighters and other Emergency Response personnel to track the assignments and locations of their personnel on the scene of emergencies. The new version will also be marketed to the private Security Industry, a profession that has evolved into a response based industry as well.

"Unfortunately, the current situation around the world is requiring that Security professionals in every field prepare for and be able to respond to many types of emergencies that occur within their clients boundaries," says John Ellis, President of Incident Command Technologies, Inc (and retired 25 year veteran of the fire service). Although the Security professionals may not be required to perform to the level of firefighters or police officers, they can be placed in harms way. Because of this, Ellis says Security personnel should be monitored and tracked, for their own safety as well as response efficiency.

"The Hospital (Healthcare) Security field is a perfect example, where they utilize the Hospital Emergency Incident Command System" Ellis explains. "The HEICS was mirrored after the Emergency Services Incident Command System (ICS) and is modified slightly to meet their needs. They still use the same modular management system, breaking larger incidents down
into smaller, more manageable ones and making specific people responsible for specific tasks. Our PAR system will make keeping track of people and their assignments during a response easier, and will increase worker safety."

The PAR application also provides a chronological, detailed report of the entire incident when done. Emergency responders use the report for what is called a Post Incident Analysis, a critique of their performance during an emergency. The report will measure performance and help identify training issues.
