Desktop reader/writer unit

Chatsworth, California

Secura Key announces a new addition to its line of e*Tag Contactless Smart Card readers. The ET4-AUS-D is a Desktop Reader/Writer unit with a standard USB cable, which works with any Windows PC. It functions as a Human Interface Device, using the built-in drivers in Windows.

This new USB reader allows customers who have selected Secura Key e*Tag for their access control system to take advantage of the additional memory on e*Tag Contactless Smart cards for applications such as cafeteria purchases, library cards, health club memberships, cashless vending, public transportation, airline ticketing, customer loyalty programs, fuel dispensing, network log-on security, automotive vehicle identification and time and attendance.

Secura Key offers e*Tag technology in several form factors including a rugged keytag, an ISO/CR80 sized card, and an adhesive backed label.

The USB Desktop reader can read or write information to any location on the tag, and can also read the UID Unique Identification Number from the card chip. Secura Key provides complete documentation for the applications developer, as well as a free download of e*Tag Host, a demonstration tool for Secura Key's e*Tag Readers.

The reader has a beige Lexan polycarbonate housing, measuring 3.20" x 4.50" x 0.84", with four non-skid rubber feet and a 6-foot long white USB cable. A bi-color LED and beeper are included for user feedback.

The ET4-AUS-D reads and write to Secura Key's e*Tag cards and keytags, which are ISO15693 compliant contactless smart cards. It is also compatible with any 15693 open standard contactless smart card, such as TI HF-1, Philips iCode, ST-Micro LRI, Infineon My-D and My-D Lite.
