Compro protects equines in Ecuador

Quito, Ecuador

Ecuadorian Horse Farm

A horse farm in Ecuador has deployed several Compro network cameras to take care of a herd of valuable show-jumping horses 24/7.
This Ecuadorian horse farm is located in the capital city of Quito, a city home to over 2 million Ecuadorians. Among the 45 German show-jumping horses kept on this Ecuadorian farm are winners of many big competitions. To the farm owner, these show-jumping horses represent his entire livelihood. Thus to protect his livelihood, the owner was in need of a means to keep a watchful eye on his horses 24 hours a day.

To build a round-the-clock surveillance system that monitors his stables and show-jumping horses, the farm owner contacted Expertatel, a local system installer who has been the distributor for Compro in Ecuador for the past few years. In his discussion with Expertatel, the farm owner specifically expressed preference for a surveillance camera system that offers megapixel HD resolution and day and night functionality.

As the farm owner explained, after night falls, the stables where the horses are stalled is mostly unlit in order to let the horses rest undisturbed. Thus cameras that can capture clear nighttime video using infrared light were much preferred. Beyond that, the proprietor also wanted to use the new security installation to check in on his horses from the comfort of his home, so a user-friendly remote monitoring platform had to be provided. Finally, the cameras were required to be weatherproof and solid enough so that they would survive the long rainy season of Quito.

It only took a short time to arrive at a decision to deploy the Compro NC450 bullet network cameras. The Compro NC450 was selected for the horse farm surveillance not only because it offers 1.3 megapixel HD video streaming capability, superior night vision, IP66-grade weather resistance, a multi-channel management platform, and a solid build quality, all the features demanded by the farm owner, but also because it proved to have a good cost to performance ratio.

Ultimately, a total of 4 Compro NC450 network cameras were installed beneath the roof of the stables. These Compro cameras now keep a watchful eye on the horses 24/7 on behalf of the owner who now can use his home computer to monitor and record video from all 4 cameras at anytime. According to the company, since these cameras were installed, the owner has been very pleased with the convenience and peace of mind brought by these Compro cameras.
