CameraVision signs distribution agreement with ScanSource Security

Stockholm, Sweden

CameraVision and ScanSource Security have signed an agreement for the distribution of Cameravision's products in the North American market. Customers in the US will now have access to CameraVision's products and expanded expert knowledge and service from ScanSource Security.

"As the leading American camera security distributor, ScanSource Security is an excellent strategic partner for CameraVision AB. CameraVision's portfolio of in-house developed eye-level identification cameras is now available in network design with built-in camera components from Axis Communications. The security industry is becoming more demanding with respect to images that are useful for identification purposes and as the market leader in eye-level identification solutions it is important for CameraVision to reach markets beyond Europe with its breadth and expertise. Our collaboration with ScanSource Security is part of this strategy," says Åsa Ericsson, CEO, CameraVision.

CameraVision's products are a good fit with ScanSource Security's line of security solutions. For over 15 years ScanSource Security has focused on distribution of brand-name products to the security market in the US.

"ScanSource Security Distribution is excited about the addition of CameraVision to our lineup of 'best of breed' vendors. The retail segment has always been an area of focus for us, and the CameraVision eye level covert IP cameras give us a necessary part of a complete video surveillance solution for retailers. We already have introduced their products to some of our key integrator partners, and have aggressive plans to help them grow their presence in the US market in 2010," says Paul J Constantine, Vice-President, Merchandising, ScanSource Security.

CameraVision's founder is one of the pioneers in camera security in Sweden. The first mass-produced identification solution was developed 30 years ago. CameraVision is unique because the company positions monitoring cameras at the same height that a professional photographer uses for portraits.
