Brinks charity run raises $43,000

Brinks Home Security hosted their fourth annual 5K run/walk on October 19, 2019; teaming with Mission 500 as the benefiting charity. The day before the race, more than 600 School Refill Packs were assembled for local students attending Farmers Branch Elementary School. In addition, twenty-five Brinks Home Security employee volunteers helped build homes for the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity Project which benefited local families in need.

New this year was a virtual run/walk which allowed individuals to participate who did not live in the nearby area or could not attend the event. Overall the event raised $43,000 which will benefit children across the United States, as well as, local elementary students and those in need.

“We’re proud to sponsor and host this event for the fourth straight year. By partnering with Mission 500 we have expanded our reach, benefiting not only the local community, but also the state and national level,” said Jeff Gardner, President and CEO of Brinks Home Security. “We look forward to another successful event in 2020.”

The event was held at Brinks Home Security’s headquarters in Farmers Branch, Texas. Geoffrey Kipchumba won in the male category with the fastest course time of 14:21. Ivy Kibet won the women’s group with a time of 16:01.
