Aspectus names Dieter Kondek as new President and CEO

NEW YORK, NY (USA)

Aspectus Video Intelligence, Inc., has appointed Dieter Kondek as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. The company also announced the addition of Russell R. MacDonnell and Peter Gyenes to the company´s Board of Advisors; both executives have also invested in Aspectus.

Kondek succeeds co-founder Gadi Talmon who was named Executive Vice President of Business Development and General Manager of Aspectus Video's R&D facility in Tel Aviv. Buddy Flerl and co-founder Zvika Ashani continue on the organization's leadership team as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Chief Technology Officer, respectively.
With over three years of successful field deployments, Aspectus Video Intelligence has quickly become the acknowledged market leader in the next generation of digital video analytics. Aspectus' enterprise grade pilot projects and field trials are successfully detecting user-defined events at borders, prisons, airports, railways/transit systems, financial institutions, water authorities, critical infrastructures, government facilities and highways throughout the world. Current named customers include: the U.S. Department of Energy, DHL, the Israeli Ministry of Justice, the Israel Prison Service and Israel Railways. Aspectus' Agent VI(tm) software has been specified by both the Houston Metro and Philadelphia's SEPTA mass transit systems.

Dieter Kondek brings over 30 years of high tech sales, marketing and operations experience to Aspectus Video Intelligence. As CEO, Kondek is responsible for the day-to-day operations as well as company's sales, product marketing and human resource functions. He joins Aspectus Video from DynaPel Systems, Inc., a leading developer of video surveillance soft- and hardware solutions, where he was served as President and CEO for four years. Under Kondek's leadership, DynaPel placed an IPO in January 2005 at the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE). Prior to DynaPel, he held a number of executive positions at Dell Computer Corporation, MetaCreations Corporation, Linotype-Hell AG, Webfair AG, Computer 2000 AG and IBM Corporation.

Russell R. MacDonnell is co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Rapid Response Monitoring. Founded in 1992, Rapid Response Monitoring provides wholesale security alarm monitoring services (fire, burglary, supervisory and medical signals, plus GPS tracking/monitoring) to more than 900 security system dealers. It monitors about 200,000 security systems for military, commercial, and residential customers throughout the U.S. from a central facility in New York state and is one of fewer than two dozen companies approved to monitor fire alarms in New York City. Rapid Response Monitoring is considered throughout the industry to be the technological leader in command and control monitoring systems.
MacDonnell also owns Intelli-Tec Security Services, LLC, in Westbury, New York. Intelli-Tec designs and installs custom electronic and video security systems for residential and corporate customers. Intelli-Tec is known for the quality of its customer service and its state-of-the-art technology and security designs.
Peter Gyenes has four decades of experience in technical, sales, marketing and general management positions within the software and computer systems industry. Most recently, Gyenes served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ascential (NASDAQ: ASCL), which was acquired by IBM in 2005. Prior to Ascential, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Informix Software where he led the sale of its database business to IBM and the transition from Informix to Ascential. Earlier, Gyenes was Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Ardent Software, which was acquired by Informix in 2000.
Before Ardent, Gyenes served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Racal InterLan Inc. Previously, he served in executive sales, marketing, and general management positions at Data General Corporation, Encore Computer Corporation and Prime Computer, Inc. Still earlier in his career, he held technical positions at Xerox Data Systems and at IBM.
Gyenes also serves on the boards of a number of public and privately held technology companies and the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council. He is a graduate of Columbia University, where he received both his B.A. in mathematics and his M.B.A. degree.
