An award initiative of the Burnaby Board of Trade and the City of Burnaby, the BBEAs honour and celebrate businesses, entrepreneurs and not-for-profit organisations for their contributions to the city of Burnaby. Now in its 14th year, the BBEAs represent the highest business honour in Burnaby.
The Business of the Year award is presented to a business that has made an outstanding contribution in the combined areas of business success, innovation and community service.
The awards process starts early on the year, when a call for public nominations is made, followed by an adjudication and shortlisting process. From all of the nominations received, up to 5 will be shortlisted as finalists in each category and announced at the Hall of Fame Induction and Finalists Announcement Luncheon in October. After a judging process, the winners in each category will be announced live at the annual BBEA gala in November.
