Airport self boarding security lane launched by Boon Edam

Edam, The Netherlands

The Airport Swinglane, is a new generation self-boarding security lane from Boon Edam and has now been included in their sophisticated portfolio of security access control products.
The Airport Swinglane is the ultimate solution for self-service boarding and transfers at air- and seaports without jeopardising strict security demands. Allowing passengers to take control of their own boarding process has its clear advantages; improved passenger satisfaction, shorter passenger queues and ground personnel freed up for more customer focussed tasks.

Passengers boarding through the Airport Swinglane present their boarding pass, which is scanned and approved through the airline’s security boarding system. A receipt will be printed if any seat changes have taken place or if the passenger is boarding with a mobile phone, after which the door wings will open to allow the passenger to continue their boarding process.

Detecting any attempt at tailgating, jumping over or crawling under, the Airport Swinglane meets all the strict security demands that are in effect at sea- and airports today. Moreover it will detect any children or luggage in the lane to ensure a safe boarding process for everyone.

The Airport Swinglane is the first self-boarding security lane to be officially certified for use on the Airportconnect CUTE/CUPPS Platform by SITA and by the Association of European Airlines (AEA) according to the latest AEA 2009 regulations and standards. This certification recognises the high quality and exceptional security standards that have been achieved by the Airport Swinglane.

The Airport Swinglane will be exhibited at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2011, Copenhagen, Denmark, 29-31 March.
