Taipei, Taiwan

Lanner Electronics announces the release of a new NVR for surveillance and other high-density network video applications. The Lanner VR-2416 provides 16-channel analog video input, internal H.264/AVC Full D1 encoding, video looping and sequence monitoring, TV-Out and DVI-D ports. The product will be launched at ISC West in Las Vegas on the 1th of April to the 3rd of April.

Tim Chen, vice president of Lanner Electronics, said, "Lanner provides complete OEM/ODM customization services for partners looking to develop comprehensive network video solutions. This platform provides all of the hardware features for a complete video system in a compact 2U platform. With so many features on one platform, customers can design all-in-one solutions without the need to add expansion cards to achieve their design goals."

The VR-2416 includes DVI / VGA output and TV-Out video looping and sequencing, allowing the user to view multiple video streams sequentially. Additionally, the VR-2416 has all of its I/O and network interfaces placed on the rear of the unit, with only the USB ports, power button and DVD-RW drive front-facing. This design allows OEM customers to customize the faceplate and exterior of the product to better suit their own branding requirements.

Platform specifications include 16-channel H.264/AVC hardware encoder with an Intel Q35 + ICH9DO chipset supporting Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad CPUs, four internal 3.5" SATA II hard drive bays, a slim DVD-RW drive, maximum 4GB DDR2 RAM and two GbE network ports. Internal Rapid Recovery and support for RAID levels 0, 1, 10 and 5 ensure data integrity. The VR-2416 supports Windows XP and several Linux versions including Ubuntu 7.0 and Fedora 7 or 10. It includes an SDK for either Windows or Linux, along with the Lanner EyeShot 2000 SDK and control panel reference software.
