Tagmaster wins contracts in major Gulf projects

Stockholm, Sweden

Tagmaster, a leading supplier of advanced sensor systems for smart cities within traffic and rail, has through its subsidiary Sensys Networks Inc. received orders totaling more than $800,000 for several new projects in three major cities in the Gulf Area.

Working in conjunction with local partners Sensys Networks is deploying the company’s technology to improve the performance and reliability of detection and traffic data collection in support of advanced ITS (Intelligent Transportation Solutions) and traffic management solutions.

“Cities in the Gulf region are investing in some of the most advanced ITS and Traffic management solutions to improve safety and mobility. We are very pleased that they have chosen our technology to deliver the accurate and reliable data on which these solutions depend”, said Amine Haoui, CEO, Sensys Networks Inc.

The projects which amount to a total of more than $800,000 will be delivered during Q3 and Q4, and include:

Replacing inductive loops for an adaptive system at 48 intersections in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Sensys Networks wireless technology was chosen for its accuracy and cost effectiveness compared to loops because it requires no trenching and no conduits while delivering industry leading accuracy.

Improving mobility at 10 intersections in Muscat in Oman with Sensys Networks stop-bar detection solution. The customer switched to Sensys Networks after extensive testing because of the accuracy and reliability of the products.

Providing real-time traffic data on new expressways in Doha in Qatar as part of one of the most advanced ITS projects in the region. Sensys Networks technology was chosen for its ease of installation and accuracy.

“We have earlier expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition of Sensys Networks and these orders confirm that our ambition to become a stronger supplier of ITS solutions together with Sensys Networks is materialising”, says Jonas Svensson, CEO, Tagmaster.
