Vivotek cameras help deliver social security services in Iran

Khorasan province, Iran

The Iranian Social Security Organization has recently taken on board a comprehensive new IP surveillance system from Vivotek to provide them with a seamless security solution.
The Social Security Organization, a nongovernmental social insurance organisation in Iran, provides social protection, health care and medical services to waged workers, the self-employed, and disadvantaged groups. 32.5 million people across the country are estimated to benefit from the social security provided by the organisation. Kankash Niroo, the system integration partner of Vivotek's distributor PFN Technology in Khorasan province, provided the organisation with professional consultation services to install Vivotek's IP surveillance solution to deliver seamless security.

People safety is at the top of the agenda for the Social Security Organization. Some of the organisation’s branches, where analogue cameras were installed previously, are located in Mashhad City, Khorasan province. The analogue cameras, which were installed around 4 to 5 years ago were no longer adequate for the job in hand and, due to the limited number of cameras in the old system and the fact that they now required an integrated system for video management, the installation of a new IP surveillance system was regarded as absolutely necessary for the organisation.

The organisation needed to be assured of a comprehensive security across all the branches. Kankash Niroo, the system integration partner of Vivotek’s distributor PFN Technology in Khorasan province, provided the organisation with professional consultation and design services. Instead of analogue cameras, IP surveillance products were recommended as better solutions to deliver seamless security. Kankash Niroo began to look into IP-based camera solutions that would best meet the needs of the organisation’s infrastructure. He finally decided on the Vivotek’s IP cameras due to competitive price, good quality, and excellent after-sales service.

The project involved a total of 388 Vivotek network cameras indoors and outdoors, including 112 FD8134, 93 FD8161, 81 IP8332, 59 MD8562, 34 IP8362, and 9 FD8135H cameras. Along with the installation of 388 IP cameras, wireless connections were implemented, allowing centralised monitoring and video management.

For outdoor areas, 81 IP 8332 and 34 IP8362 cameras were installed. The IP8332, a bullet-style network camera, was used in all parking lots at various branches. Incorporating a number of advanced features, such as a 1MP sensor enabling 1280x800 viewing resolution at a smooth 30 fps, a removable IR-cut filter and IR illuminators effective up to 15M for superior image quality around the clock, and an IP66-rated housing to withstand rain and dust, the IP8332 is the ideal option for outdoor parking lot applications. The entry of incoming vehicles or other events can be effectively monitored. By the entrance and exit gates, IP8362 cameras were installed. With 1080P full HD resolution at 30 fps and WDR enhancement, the IP8362 is able to deliver image details in extremely bright as well as dark environments, providing precise monitoring.

As for indoor areas, cameras with superior adaptability under challenging light conditions were required. The FD8135H, with an HD WDR CMOS sensor to cope with challenging lighting conditions, was used for the monitoring of the main entrance of every branch and the head office—all of which are typically exposed to a great deal of sunlight. And in the staircases and the main hallways, the 1MP FD8134, with a removable IR-cut filter and built-in IR illuminators, was chosen for its excellent capabilities in activity detection under low- or even no-light conditions after the lights have been turned off. In reception areas, FD8161 cameras were used. These cameras with their 2-megapixel resolution provide extremely clear image quality while requiring less storage capacity since their motion-activated sensor only records when movement is detected. In more confined areas and where wide-angle lenses are required, MD8562 cameras were installed, providing a field of view spanning up to 110 degrees.

William Ku, Vice President of Vivotek’s International Business Division, remarked, "The client is quite satisfied with the huge success of this project since it was completed within the specified timeframe and budget. The implementation process and the superior monitoring quality are definitely meeting the client’s expectations. Comprehensive and seamless security can therefore be achieved in the organisation. Because of the client’s great satisfaction with Vivotek, the installation of Vivotek’s cameras in the other Social Security Organisation branches in Khorasan province will be continued."
