Unique CEM PoE intelligent two door access controller
Belfast, UK
The eDCM 330 two-door controller is designed for use with the powerful range of CEM AC2000 security management systems. The eDCM 330 works in conjunction with a Midspan power injector between the CEM AC2000 system server and the door and incorporates CEM technology, making it a uniquely robust and innovative PoE approach in access control.
The CEM PoE+ solution is unique to the industry as it can reliably deliver up to 2 Amps to power an entire door set, including access control readers, heavy duty maglocks and associated items, all over one CAT 5/6 Ethernet cable.
“CEM was the first to introduce a PoE+ access control solution to the market when in 2007 the DIU 230 PoE+ door interface unit was released to power advanced CEM card readers”, said Andrew Fulton, Business Development Director for CEM Systems. “With the release of the eDCM 330 two-door controller, the CEM PoE+ solution is now available to power third party readers, making the innovative PoE+ solution accessible to the wider access control market”.
The CEM PoE+ solution uses existing Ethernet infrastructure so that only one set of wires is required to be brought to the door, saving installation costs and time. By using existing Ethernet cabling installed at buildings, the PoE+ solution also eliminates the need for fused mains spurs and local mains power supplies in the electrical design of the building. This substantially reduces project installation costs as it simplifies installation and spares the expense of an electrical contractor.
The CEM PoE+ access control solution has already been successfully installed at numerous prestigious security sites including Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, Glasgow’s Victoria and Stobhill Hospitals, UK and Marina bay Sands Casino, Asia.
