UAE Ministry of Interior first ME agency to join Borderpol

London, UK

The Ministry of Interior, General Directorate of Immigration and Naturalisation of the United Arab Emirates is the latest agency to join Borderpol.
Thomas Tass, Executive Director of Borderpol said, "Both our organisations share the aims of promoting international borders that enhance human mobility whilst ensuring traveller safety, security and facilitate smart and secure border systems. Therefore, as the first Middle East agency to join the organisation we greatly appreciate their leadership and we look forward to working with them in future to develop a range of programmes both regionally and globally to promote transnational cooperation, open communications, constructive consultation and best practice within the field of integrated border management.

We would like to publicly thank them for their support and look forward to a long and productive co-operation."

Borderpol is the world border organisation dedicated to improving border security and standardising international procedures and processes. Recognising the need for the establishment of a global home to over 1000 border related services Borderpol was officially registered in March 2003 as a non-profit international association in Canada with its General Secretariat located in Ottawa. In concert with the EU Secretariat in Budapest opened in 2005 and the Asia Secretariat established in India in 2011, Borderpol facilitates co-operation and consultations among likeminded border services and related agencies.

Borderpol is governed by its Constitution and senior representatives from national border policing services provide policy oversight to the organizations Executive through the Borderpol Exploratory Committee (BEXCOM).
