Travel between UAE and Saudi Arabia made easier with identity-card agreement

Abu Dhabi, UAE

The UAE and Saudi Arabia signs an agreement to enable their citizens to use their identity cards to travel freely via land, sea and airports between their countries.

The agreement was signed by Major General Mohammad Salem Al Khaili, director of the residency and naturalisation department, and Major General Salem Bin Mohammad Al Blaihid, director general of the Saudi immigration department.

The agreement was signed in line with the directives of the leaderships of the UAE and Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries to ease the travel of GCC citizens among their countries. It also aimed to remove hurdles that hinder the travel of Gulf citizens between GCC countries.
Under the agreement, UAE and Saudi citizens will be able to use their identity cards to travel freely between the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
