Tagmaster receives order from Bombardier

Stockholm, Sweden

TagMaster has received an additional order from Bombardier Transportation. The TagMaster equipment will be used on new trains which are to operate on existing lines at Metro Madrid, where Bombardier has already installed a large RFID system from TagMaster.

This new order covers the supply of 62 TagMaster Heavy Duty (HD) Readers over a 12 month period. These will be used to equipping the new trains being manufactured by CAF in Spain for Metro Madrid.

TagMaster HD Readers will be mounted onboard the trains and provide both location and accurate positioning information to the Bombardier supplied onboard system. The system will also use the TagMaster Accurate Positioning software option, which is used by the onboard system to accurately calibrate the train's position. The accuracy of the RFID system is especially important where the train has to be stopped at a precise position to align with the platform.

"TagMaster Readers are an important element of the advanced CBTC (communication based train control) system that Bombardier has developed and is implementing on lines 1 and 6 of the Metro de Madrid" says Javier Tamayo, general manager, Rail Control Solutions, Spain, Bombardier Transportation.

"We are very pleased Bombardier has again selected TagMaster as the RFID solution for Metro Madrid. The installation in Madrid is now one of the largest TagMaster systems in use on a metro system in Europe." says Richard Holt, director transportation at TagMaster AB.
