Suprema releases Biostation

Korea

Suprema releases its BioStation RF with both a fingerprint and a proximity card reader inside.

Together with the fingerprint identification, the added RF card option even enlarges the application area of BioStation.

BioStation RF has three factors of authentication, fingerprint, PIN and card. For example, fingerprint can be used for full time workers and RF card can be issued as a bypass card for temporal workers or visitors.

BioStation is a finerprint terminal for time attendance and access control. With a colour LCD and high quality sound, BioStation provides a different level of user interaction using multimedia information, versatile interface options including wireless LAN and USB memory enabling an easy network integration and data transfer without any wiring. The unit is able to store maximum 50,000 prints and has a logging capacity of 500,000 events.

In BioStation RF, 125KHz EM technology has been adopted for proximity card reading. The RF card reading part is integrated inside BioStation without any change in appearance. RF cards should be placed below fingerprint sensor where the RF antenna is located. The reading range is long enough to read a card in a thick wallet.
