SAG UHF SP metal tag reads from behind metal

Taichung, Taiwan

With focus on the industrial market, SAG has developed behind-metal transponder to facilitate different applications.  True to its name, the tag is still readable when placed behind metal.

The new arrival SP Metal Tag comes with an EU-band and a robust over-molded plastic housing (PA9T) for process monitoring and optimisation in logistics, production, manufacturing or IoT. In September, the SP metal tag demonstrated its abilities at RFID Tomorrow in Dusseldorf, Germany– a professional venue where RFID specialists gather to find new solutions.

An interesting feature of this tag, is its capability to reverse the interference caused by a metallic surface to become its steering power. According to the company, this feature has so far not been possible within the RFID industry worldwide, and so this new design brings a significant achievement. The company has tested the tag under laboratory conditions and the testing numbers and figures are shown in diagram above-right.
