RTA to promote relations with unified ambulance center in Dubai

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) recently received a delegation from Unified Ambulance Center in Dubai, headed by Colonel Khalifa Hassan Al-Darrai, CEO of the Center, and an accompanying delegation. The meeting, which took place at the premises of Bus Depot at RTA Public Transport Agency at Al-Aweer, explored matters to promote relations between the RTA and the Center.

On this visit, Salim Abdul-Rahman Al Saleh, director of maintenance & services dep't at RTA Public Transport Agency stressed the deeply-rooted relations between the RTA and strategic partners, be it government or semi-government departments. "RTA is always keen to widen and promote these relations to the interest of all parties involved as it contributes to the advancement witnessed by the UAE in general and Dubai in particular in all fields. Ultimately it cements the image of Dubai as a premier business, tourist and financial global hub, and an attraction point to investors & business leaders from all corners of the globe.

"The visiting delegation was briefed on the specifications of modern buses imported by the RTA from the best suppliers worldwide. This covered acquainting the delegation with the articulated buses and the mechanism adopted in testing & maintaining them. The visitors also reviewed the expertise and capabilities of Maintenance & Services Dep't at the Agency in the field testing & maintaining buses in general. The meeting explored ways and means of enabling the Unified Ambulance Center benefit from these expertise & potentials in a way to strengthen the drive of the Center and serves its existing and future projects" noted Al Saleh.

Among the technical aspects to which the delegation was introduced, Al Saleh said that Maintenance & Services Dep't reviewed with the Center a number of important aspects such as boosting the capacity of the approved air-conditioning system, security & safety mechanism, and means used in keeping medicines. "Maintenance and Services Dep't made some suggestions to the Unified Ambulance Center with regard to the provision of sufficient supplies of power and filters required for operating safety and first aid kits on board buses" he added.

Colonel Khalifa Hassan Al-Darrai, CEO of the Center in Dubai, expressed his delight with this meeting, which he considered as a launching pad for expanding the scope of joint cooperation between the Unified Ambulance Center and the RTA, and a platform to exchange expertise between the two parties.

Al Darrai also hailed the continuous efforts made by the RTA as part of its strategic initiative and constructive plans to undertake a number of vital projects aiming to achieve full integration of mass transit modes such as public buses, taxis, marine transit and Dubai Metro. He also praised the efforts of the RTA in constructing infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels and other vital projects; which play a crucial role in serving this vital sector.
