Qatars biennial event becomes more important

This 6th edition of MILPOL takes place from 15th - 17th of May in Doha just 8 months before the Asian Games. The organising committee is setting up an important investment programme for security material in order to equip all infrastructures linked to the sports event. MILPOL is a biennial event which in 2004 attracted 220 exhibitors from 35 countries and 3,900 professional visitors coming from 58 countries.

MILPOL Qatar 2006 is organised by EDS-MILPOL of France and sponsored by the Ministry of Interior of Qatar. Venue is The International Exhibition Centre of Doha.
Facing a worldwide security market, undergoing radical changes, MILIPOL brings together professionals and their know-how of many sectors with high added value such as: Electronics, IT Computing, Fabrics and special fibres, Biometry, Optics, Optronics, Consultancy, Training, and other services.

Asian Games in Qatar increases the need for security
Qatar is hosting the 15th Asian Games which will be held in December 2006, and the Qatar government is allowing considerable investment in security equipment. In addition Qatar, situated in the heart of the Middle East, is today a strategic crossroads at both an economic and an industrial level. The country's gas reserves are estimated to contain 12 % of the world's total reserves. Demand for security equipment is thus rising. Qatar is considered by many as the Gulf state with the best economic growth potential.
