Passive VGA balun

Taipei, Taiwan

Superiror Electronics Corporation is now shipping its new EVT-SBP-GQ Passive VGA Balun as a new addition to its extensive line of CCTV products.

The EVT-SBP-GQ is for connecting a PC, digital video recorder, or video splitter to a VGA monitor at distances of up to 450 feet (137m) away. The connection is done via low-cost Cat 5 or Cat 5e shielded twisted-pair (STP) cable with shielded RJ-45 connectors. This allows the monitors to be easily installed on a security professional's desk while the video devices are locked securely in a separate room.

Superior Electronics Corp.'s Passive VGA Balun provides the following features:

* Low-cost and lightweight compared to VGA cable
* Transmits VGA signals from personal computers, digital video recorders, video splitters, or similar video sources with a VGA output to CRT or LCD monitors or VGA projectors.
* Extends VGA range to 450 feet (137m) @ 640 x 480 resolution.
* Works with video signals of up to 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution.
* Uses Cat 5 or Cat 5e shielded twisted pair instead of heavier, more expensive VGA cables.
* Sold in pairs: One for the video source, one for the monitor.
* Passive operation, no power required.
* Small size, only 21/8" x 13/16" x 1" (54 x 30 x 25mm).
