New software from Geutebruck

Windhagen, Germany

As the number of CCTV cameras per system continues to rise, it is increasingly important to ensure that control room staff get a good visual overview and not a confusing video overload. - Which is why Geutebrück have teamed up with top video analysis developer Aimetis to produce a new, high performance, video assistance solution for intelligently filtering visual information before it is presented.

The new GeViScope video analysis software module spots a range of different types of objects and behaviours which might require attention or investigation. 'Person', 'car', 'fast', 'slow', 'wrong direction', 'object appearing' and 'object disappearing', can all be recognized either separately, or when logically combined. So if desired, it will trigger alerts when a person moves fast, or a car goes in the wrong direction, but will ignore a car going fast or a person going in the wrong direction. These alerts can automatically activate recording from particular cameras; switch pictures of the event to another viewer station; trigger an alarm; bring PTZ and/or dome systems into preset positions; switch the user interface to the relevant site plan; inform a host management system, etc, whatever is appropriate.

By building their own object-based recognition system round an Aimetis kernel algorithm Geutebrück have been able to ensure that their solution is not only very flexible and adaptable for any kind of scene and application, but that it can be operated in parallel with the GeViScope's own exceptionally efficient VMD. This so-called dual sensor operation increases accuracy and reduces unwanted alarms to rare events, thereby providing significant benefit in monitoring perimeters, open sites and buildings. By feeding back content analysis results to the picture database, the video assistant supports statistical functions, fast picture searching by extended search criteria, selective backup, and so-called 'fading long term memory'.

Thisvideo analysis software works whether the picture source was originally analogue, IP or megapixel. It is available as a software upgrade.
