Jumeirah Park, Jumeirah Village Triangle and Al Furjan - which between them house around 16,500 people - will all become fenced, gated communities this year, the developer said.

A contractor is already on site at Al Furjan, where fencing installation is around 60 per cent complete. Nakheel has also appointed a contractor for Jumeirah Park and Jumeirah Village, where work will begin in May. In all, nearly 20 kilometres of 1.8 metre high fencing will be fitted at the three communities.

Nakheel is also building security gates at the three communities.  The work will be out to tender shortly.
