Morpho secures mobile biometric payments

Paris, France

Morpho (Safran) recently presented the 3Dbiosecure at the 2013 Cartes exhibition in Paris - this latest innovation uses biometric technology to validate mobile payments.
Morpho’s 3Dbiosecure is engineered to deliver a groundbreaking mobile biometric application for payment validation. While electronic signatures are currently based on random secret keys which are unrelated to their owners, 3Dbiosecure uses biometrics to establish a link between the private key and its owner. This authentication provides enhanced security for online payment transactions and guarantees non-repudiation of electronic signatures, while delivering convenience to the user. As a result, the validity of electronic signatures cannot be challenged.

"With digital transactions on the rise, 3Dbiosecure is a perfect illustration of how biometrics can help meet security challenges in the banking sector", stated Régis Bauchière, Director, Identity Management of Morpho’s Identification Division.

3Dbiosecure was selected as a finalist for the Sesames Award in the "Trusted Internet / Authentication" category. This award is designed to recognise the most innovative professionals in the fields of smart cards, digital security, identification, secure transactions and contactless technologies.
