LPR solution from TDV

Hsinchu, Taiwan

Triple Domain Vision (TDV), an engineering house specialised in embedded video content analytic (VCA) solutions for surveillance systems, has provided a line of license plate recognition (LPR) software for both DSP-based hardware and PC-based/IP devices.

The DSP-based LPR software can be utilised with four different TDV DSP-based hardware -  Esensor, Ibox800', Imbox, and Icard40.  The integrated Esensor has the capability to connect one analogue (CCTV) camera for digital license plate recognition performance, whilst the Ibox800 can provide 2 - 4 channels of LPR with analogue (CCTV) cameras. The Imbox features LPR on the move for 2 - 4 channels of CCTV cameras and the Icard40 is an add-on card module that offers 4 channels to work with 4 network (IP) cameras that also supports a post analysis feature.

TDV also offers PC-based LPR software to work with IP cameras, which also supports post analysis functionality.   The number of lanes or channels is subject to the performance and scope of the PC processor.

Improved performance can be achieved for the license plate recognition rate in different applications, other than the quality of the algorithm and dependent upon the suitability of the cameras, with features such as: light suppression, vehicle speed, evening illumination effects, supplemental lighting, etc., these should be used in a video surveillance system with an IVA solution.
