From Keltron's beginnings as a manufacturer of analog control devices to the company's current position as a manufacturer of life safety event management solutions, Fox led the company's engineering efforts to design and develop life safety equipment. Always believing in highly responsive, direct connect alarm monitoring, he designed alarm receivers for municipalities before central stations were conceived. Over the years, he created an experienced engineering team that developed many company firsts including the solid state coded fire alarm signal decoder, multiplex data gathering panel and the use of microprocessors in alarm systems. Today, the company's expert engineers have expanded into radio and Ethernet technology, providing solutions to institutional, commercial, industrial, government, and military facilities across the country.

Active in NFPA for many years, Fox sat on the Supervising stations technical committee of the National Fire Alarm Code (NFPA 72).
