IQinVision's seminar has the headline "Intelligent Cameras Revolutionize Surveillance", and will be presented by Paul Bodell.
Until recently, cameras were "dumb" eyeballs, streaming all information to a central processor for decision-making- presenting major challenges of bandwidth and reliability. Since the introduction of smart cameras, more analysis and therefore more decisions are made at the edge of the network, substantially improving the scalability, flexibility, and overall effectiveness of today's surveillance networks.

Bodell will also discuss a case study at Temple University, which showcases the transition from dumb analog cameras and DVRs to a networked surveillance system, using IP megapixel camera technology.
