IP-in- Action LIVE offers a busy day

The inaugural IP-in- Action LIVE events in Chicago, will be held on August 29th. Among the features of the event at the American Dental Association Conference and Meeting Center are the seminars, hosted by IQinVision and Cisco Systems.

IQinVision's seminar has the headline "Intelligent Cameras Revolutionize Surveillance", and will be presented by Paul Bodell.
Until recently, cameras were "dumb" eyeballs, streaming all information to a central processor for decision-making- presenting major challenges of bandwidth and reliability. Since the introduction of smart cameras, more analysis and therefore more decisions are made at the edge of the network, substantially improving the scalability, flexibility, and overall effectiveness of today's surveillance networks.
Paul Bodell's presentation will provide an overview of the different types of on-camera intelligence and how they improve the overall system performance and user experience. Bodell will also discuss a case study at Temple University, which showcases the transition from dumb analog cameras and DVRs to a networked surveillance system, using IP megapixel camera technology.

Cisco Systems' presentation, "Deploying IP-based Video Surveillance Systems", will also be very interesting.
Network-centric video surveillance offers improved security and flexibility. This presentation from an industry leader will describe the considerations in deploying video surveillance across an IP infrastructure, including bandwidth usage, the benefits of multicast, the need to secure video devices and traffic, and the use of routing and switching to create scalable reliable video surveillance architectures.

IP-in-Action events are Free to ALL Attendees and part of a series of one-day educational events designed to assist in the learning and understanding process regarding IP and Networked Security and Building Management Solutions (BMS). Sponsored by the IP UserGroup USA, these events bring together leading companies and individuals interested in IP-based security, acco5rding to the organiser. The main target groups for the event are Installers, Integrators, End Users, Consultants, and other Security and IT Professionals.
