IP-based license plate recognition appliance

Saint-Laurent, Canada

Genetec release the AutoVu Sharp, an IP-based license plate recognition (LPR) appliance which delivers advanced digital video processing and superior plate reading performance. The ruggedized design of the AutoVu Sharp is ideal for outdoors metropolitan environments.

Used in applications including law enforcement, surveillance, and access control, the AutoVu Sharp is available for both fixed and mobile installations. Additionally, the AutoVu Sharp provides the advantages of having sophisticated analytics residing on the edge, as well as simplified installation and configuration, and reduced network load and head-end processing.

"Users will not only benefit from all the superior features of the AutoVu Sharp but they will be able to take advantage of its portability factor as well," claims Pierre Hubert, business development director for AutoVu. "Rotating the unit between shifts will maximize usage and therefore, results."

The AutoVu Sharp boasts unequalled precision as it automatically reads plates of parked or moving vehicles up to 140 MPH or 225 km/h. This rugged LPR device also has the ability to read license plates spanning two lanes of traffic and is available in a variety of configurations, depending on the specific needs of each application.
