HH Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed inagurated Intersec

His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority officially inaugurated the three-day Intersec Trade Fair and Conference 2009 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre yesterday (January 18).

HH Sheikh Majid was accompanied at the inauguration by Ms Elizabeth Brehl, managing director of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, exhibition organisers and Angela Schierholz, senior show manager of Intersec.

Shaikh Majid's first stop was at the stand of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The NGO is one of the world's leading bodies for health and safety professionals. IOSH Stand Manager: Colette Walley briefed Shaikh Majid on IOSH's scope of work and on their participation at the trade fair.

Next on Sheikh Majid's itinerary were visits to the stand of Nakheel PJSC, a worldclass accredited training provider. He also stopped by the stand of the Saudi Factory
for Fire Equip. (SFFECO), one of the leading Firefighting equipment manufacturers, with a state-of-the-art factory in Riyadh, KSA and based in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai.

HH Sheikh Majid, the Patron of Intersec Trade Fair and Conference then inspected the Epoc Messe Frankfurt Media Centre and saw for himself the facility set up for
members of the local and international press covering the fair.

This was followed by a brief stop at the booth of the National Fire Fighting Manufacturing FZCO. (NAFFCO) based in Jebel Ali Free Zone and the booth of the
Abu Dhabi Civil Defense which displayed fire fighting trucks and cars. They also proudly exhibited a motorbike which was manufactured in the UAE.

At the German Pavilion, Sheikh Majid was warmly welcomed by Mr. Michael Von Zitzewitz (chairman of the board of management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH) and the
German ambassador to the UAE H.E. Ambassador Klaus-Peter Brandes.

Other stops were at the booth of Secutronic, a leading security systems integrator in the region, with branches in Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and Dubai.

At the Dubai Police pavilion an information stand on crime fighting, support of Civil Defence, Dubai Police Academy security work and other achievements was presented. Dubai Police Officials eight departments of Dubai Police are represented at Dubai Police Pavilion.

A highlight of this year's edition of Intersec was the conference programme where 65 renowned international speakers on security, safety and other relevant subjects will be speaking at the three-day conference.

Ms. Schierholz said: "Intersec is the largest and most comprehensive event of its kind in the world outside Europe. The Dubai event spreads over eight halls covering 420,000 square feet with 700 exhibitors from 50 countries displaying their products."
