Hardened IP switches
Brussels, Belgium
"MultiLink IP Switches can be easily integrated into new or existing installations thanks to its modular construction and capabilities for high port density," stated Francesco Della Mora, EMEA Sales Leader, GE Fiber Channel. "The simple, but powerful, user-friendly Web Management interface is fully supported and viewable for all configuration and monitoring functions. In addition, the straightforward installation and setup offer the customer 'plug & play' capabilities," he said.
The MultiLink ML2400 is an essential piece of equipment that provides bandwidth up to 1 GB per second allowing these switches to be easily integrated into larger networks. Additionally, it supports up to 32 10/100 Mbps copper, 16 10/100Mbps or eight 1Gbps fiber optic Ethernet ports, allowing more devices to be connected to a single switch, reducing overall networking costs.
Using the latest technologies such as VLAN, IGMP, QoS/CoS and SNMP protocols, these devices work in complex video multicast scenario applications, making them ideal for implementation into multi-service LANs to serve multiple layers of security applications.
"These switches provide a reliable network with fast reconfiguration times to recover from faults occurring in the system," added Della Mora. "They are sturdily built - designed from the ground up for use in harsh environments such as demanding outdoor installations, factory installations and electrical substation environments."
The MultiLink family is UL listed, CE approved and IEC 61850 and IEE 1613 approved for operation in electric substation environments. It has an operating temperature range between -40°C to +85°C.
