It was later reported that an attempted robbery had taken place late at night after the port had installed the GKB Diplomat IP solution. When a computer hacker tried to intrude on the camera’s live view recording and an accomplice stood outside waiting for signals to open the gate, the security guard noticed some viewing interruptions on screen and remarked that such a situation had never happened before. Without hesitation, the guard made the quick decision to inform headquarters and gave the order to keep all gates securely closed. Fortunately, all the BMWs in the warehouse were kept safe and sound and survived the incident without even a scratch. When accessing recorded footage after this attempted robbery or other incidents, all the data is kept in a Linux NVR. According to the company, after this incident highlighted the value of the system and the staff began to show greater appreciation toward GKB’s products and service solutions.
The recorded footage can be maintained within the Linux NVR because at the beginning of the GKB product design stage, they built in the ability of being able to view and record separately as individual features. This means that the original recording is kept safe from intrusion by hackers. The additional bonus is the 'IVAST' technology. This is a motion detection alarm platform with a live view window that automatically pops-out when events are being detected. The company has installed cameras along its borders equipped with the 'IVAST' functionality which helps to monitor the important areas at scheduled times on a daily basis to provide an increased protection level 24/7.
