Geutebruck provides video security platform in extreme conditions

Windhagen, Germany

Geutebruck video security platforms have been included in a multi million Euro modernisation programme at a the Stubai Glacier in Austria.

In October 2010 the Eisgrat mountain station on the Stubai Glacier in the Austrian Tyrol was officially reopened after the completion of a € 9,8m modernisation programme in which facilities were expanded and the building and fitments brought up to the very latest standards.

The scope of works included the renewal of all the power cabling, building systems and services and kitchen equipment.

As part of the project two Geutebruck Re_porter-16 video security platforms and 25 Sony cameras were supplied and installed by Fiegl & Spielberger of Innsbruck. These are used to protect the high value clothing and winter sports equipment in the 700m2 sports shop and equipment hire business, and to monitor the activity at the restaurant cash desks as well as on the panorama terrace.

The remote location – with an altitude of 2,900 metres and exposed to extreme weather - presented extra challenges both for the architects and main contractor in selecting compatible materials, systems and equipment to deliver and energy-efficient building, and for the installing companies because of the precise planning and co-ordination required.
