Genetec evolves SV32

Montreal, Canada

Genetec has evolved its SV-32 appliance to provide native support for access control alongside video surveillance capabilities on a single turnkey solution. The SV-32 will come pre-installed with Genetec’s unified security platform, Security Center, to offer customers the ability to deploy either a unified security solution, standalone access control, or a video surveillance system.

The SV-32 with unified access control support is expected to be available in calendar Q4 2014 to Genetec channel partners and customers in the Americas, Australia, Europe, and select countries in Asia, and it was demonstrated for the first time at ASIS 2014 in Atlanta.

Designed to support a wide range of IP cameras and encoders, the SV-32 will provide native integration with a variety of IP-ready door controllers and electronic locks from Genetec’s ecosystem of access control technology partners. Supported devices will include the Genetec SMC (Synergis Master Controller), HID Vertx and Edge Evo, Axis A1001 network door controller, Assa Abloy IP locks and Salto Sallis locks, among others. Customers will be able to rapidly deploy this turnkey appliance to secure any site requiring up to 32 cameras, or up to 100 readers.

When deployed as a unified system, the SV-32 will offer users a consolidated view of video and access control activities, while equipping security professionals with powerful monitoring, alarm management, and reporting tools. Operators will be able to seamlessly verify cardholder pictures against live or recorded video associated to access-controlled doors, manage cardholders and their access rights, and issue credentials within a single application. As an all-in-one appliance, the SV-32 can be used as a single appliance to both monitor and record video, eliminating the need for an additional monitoring workstation.
