When the fog cannon registers a break-in, the burglars had better take to their heels, before white clouds of dry and opaque security fog pour into the room. It is quite harmless, yet a very frightening experience for adrenaline-charged thieves to lose their bearings in the midst of their criminal activity.

A specialist in security fog is the Danish Protect A/S, who besides launching this fog cannon for warehouses or super markets also cements its innovative position with a number of new developments within this specialised, but very effective security sector.

In only 60 seconds just one single fog cannon - Protect 2200 - manages to cover a room of 2200 m3 completely, according to the manufacturer. Furthermore it can maintain the dense fog through the inbuilt and repeating pulse effect in 12 minutes, so that the burglars don't have 'clever ideas' of returning. For a long time the contents of the room will be totally obscured by dense fog. The fluid container of Protect 2200 contains 3 litres that together with the pulse effect can produce 4200 m3 of dense and opaque fog.

Also in the new range the Protect 600 can "Fog" 600 m3 in only 60 seconds, while Protect 1100 covers 1100 m3 with fog in 60 seconds. Equally both models are manufactured with pulse function that enables continuous fog production for a longer time.

Protect 2200 is available in the colours white and black, while Protect 600 and 1100 are available in white, silver and black.

Part of the secret behind the new performances is the newly developed fog fluid, named Xtra+. The fog is white and dry and leaves no traces in the room. Furthermore the manufacturer's chemical engineer has seen to it that the fog stays for a long time - thus equally securing the valuables for a long time.

For the new giant, model 2200, Protect has chosen to deliver a 3 litre container, which gives more shots and reduces the service checks.

Protect offers a range of 4 different nozzles that can angle the fog depending of the need. The latest news is a nozzle extension that makes it possible to choose between all 4 nozzles if the fog cannon should be hidden behind ceiling or wall.

The new range of fog cannons is also provided with a visible LED status indicator - a red, a yellow and a green light - which from a distance can inform the installer of the need and nature of service, thus reducing the service visit to only one.

By developing the new range, Protect has generally given high priority to service-friendliness. A fog cannon should be easy to install - which is the reason why Protect has constructed a hoist tool in order to prevent the installers working with the cannons on high ladders. When the dedicated plate and fittings have been mounted the fog cannon can be installed and worked on utilising the small hoist tool. This means installations are very simple, benefiting installer and ultimately the end user.

Protect has also constructed a simple metal plate for easy and quick installation hidden behind ceilings or walls. The metal plate can be used together with the hoist tool.

Security fog has been developed as a supplementary form of security to alarm systems, but is also often used instead of real fire training at the fire brigades and as evacuation training in schools and companies.
