First stadia security conference set for April in Doha

Doha, Qatar

Following dialogue with the Project Stadia Interpol team working on the resilience of future Stadia, Major Events International (MEI) are providing a limited number of invitations to attend their 1st Stadia Major Event Safety and Security Conference in Doha, Qatar on 9th-10th April 2017.

This event will be co-chaired by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) in Qatar.

Major Events International are inviting companies to form a delegation to attend this Conference. The aim is to provide a pre-mission coordination and planning session, present the Delegation credentials in an e publication, distribute as a hard copy and provide a post visit debrief to verify any follow up actions and next steps. MEI will also use best endeavours to build additional value in and around the programme and value additional input.

The conference will take place at the St Regis Doha Hotel, Qatar and is offered as an excellent opportunity to meet some key regional and international stakeholders and build new relationships and get better known in this specialist community.

The Conference will address key safety and security issues when planning major events with a focus on themes such as the current threat environment and implications, the global threat environment and implications for future major events and planning implications for recent and upcoming major event host nations.

Also being discussed will be topics including, geopolitics and impacts on major events; relevant international case studies will be discussed to share experiences in managing geopolitical issues and planning/delivery of major sporting events.

There will also be a presentation on models of risk based policing for major events, including risk based planning approaches for policing and securing major events.   The organisers will also provide a focus on responses to changing threat environment with case studies from relevant countries, event critical infrastructure resilience and case studies from relevant countries focusing on major event critical infrastructure resilience against terrorist attacks.
