Eyevis expands EYE-LCD series

Reutlingen, Germany

Eyevis launch the EYE-LCD4000M/4600M displays with an unsurpassed bezel-width of only 14mm with the EYE-LCD4000M and 15mm for the EYE-LCD4600M. As the names already indicate the displays have screen diagonals of 40" or 46".

Thanks to their flexible possibilities of usage, their minor space requirement and their reliable display performance the displays of the EYE-LCD Series have become more and more popular for a wide range of applications. Whether one wish to display video or computer signals - any kind of data can be shown on our TFT LCD screens - highly reliable and in perfect image quality. The EYE-LCD series has proved its practicability in numerous control rooms for video and data surveillance as well as in representative and informative applications all around the world.
The displays have been especially designed for the sophisticated use in professional long-time applications.

In the past TFT LCD technology-based displays were almost never used for master display applications in control rooms. The technology suffered from various disadvantage compared to the commonly used rear-projection systems. A major problem was the gap in-between the individual displays of a combined video wall. Common LCD TFT displays come with a bezel of at least 30-45 mm. So the resulting gap between two displays measured about 6 to 9 cm. An intolerable fact for modular large screen displays, since this makes display-overlapping image scaling almost impossible.
In addition to that, TFT LCD displays tend to create "ghost images" when static image content is displayed for longer periods. These effects are commonly known as "image retention" or "image sticking". These effects do not harm the displays functionality as do burned-in images to plasma displays, but it is still a reason why TFT LCD displays are unpopular in control room applications.

As a manufacturer and installer of large screen systems for control rooms, security centres, airports, traffic control and information eyevis did not want to accept the impracticability of the TFT LCD technology for such applications. On the one hand there were the wide gaps between the individual displays of a large screen wall, their impracticability for long-term control room application and on the other hand the outstanding image characteristics of the TFT LCD technology - a very unsatisfying situation for us and our customers. Therefore Eyevis have designed the EYE-LCD4000M/4600M displays with an unsurpassed bezel-width of only 14mm with the EYE-LCD4000M and 15mm for the EYE-LCD4600M. The "M" stands for modularity, a unique feature of the displays. Up to 255 of these displays can be combined to a large screen video wall. Numerous integrated features like loop-through function, internal split controlling and Picture-in-Picture enhance the efficiency of the modules tremendously. To avoid the "image retention"-effects mentioned above eyevis have also included a range of security tools to prevent the displays from damages caused by the display of static images. The panel security systems enables automatic colour inversion of the displayed data streams, automatic panel dimming and emergency cut-out functions to name only some of the included features.

These outstanding features combined with the perfect display performance of the modules make them the ideal solutions for large screen systems in smaller and middle-sized control rooms for data security, process control or video surveillance. Their pin-sharp image resolution of 1366 x 768 pixel (also available in FullHD resolution 1920 x 1080 pixel) makes the displays also very popular for informative applications at trade fairs, points of information, points of sale, digital signage on airports and traffic guidance systems. Even applications that use their large screen systems in continuous operation mode can rely on the sustainable image quality of these displays that makes them an appropriate alternative to rear-projection systems.

The displays are delivered with a stacking frame that allows for their quick and easy mounting possibility. This enables the user to build up high-performance video walls wherever he likes in short time.
