Emizon launches secure alarm signalling for IP networks

Emizon, a new business providing the first secure, managed messaging service specifically for IP networks, has been formally launched to the security and insurance industries. The announcement coincides with news that it is working closely with Chubb, part of UTC Fire and Security, in developing its technology to help deliver IP based monitoring solutions to Chubb customers across the UK.
Emizon's service was originally conceived in 2002, and it has been working with Chubb's Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) and various panel manufacturers and software providers to bring this solution to market.
The service effectively gives end users, installers and ARCs the opportunity of embracing the benefits of IP monitoring within an inherently secure network solution. This means improved functionality, flexibility and cost effectiveness whilst still maintaining the security standards associated with 'traditional' dual path signalling services.
"The Emizon service provides a fully managed end-to-end service from the alarm panel to the ARC, something that has been a key requirement since IP was first mooted," explains Bob Tuck, Emizon's Managing Director. "We have taken this end-to-end approach in the securing, managing and delivery of messages across both fixed, Broadband/Internet and wireless, GPRS IP networks".
"Emizon is about the practical application of leading edge technology to every day business," he continues. "By working collaboratively across the industry with alarm panel manufacturers, ARCs and installers, our aim is to ensure that the industry embraces the potential of IP monitoring, whilst protecting the security needs of all our customers, both now and in the future."
Jennie Savage, Chubb Monitoring & Response Director, adds: "Emizon gives us an opportunity of driving the industry forward in relation to IP monitoring. By working with them, Chubb will be able to safeguard the high security standards that have made us a leader in monitoring, whilst at the same time enabling our customers to reap the benefits of the new IP age."
Emizon's technology is designed to be future proof, and is already available in conjunction with Pyronix, Castle Care-Tech and Bosch panels, as well as being compatible with ARC software including Bold's Manitou and Monitor's Sentinel Plus.
"With IP becoming the universal protocol and business take-up of Voice Over IP (VOIP) services continuing to grow, this launch represents a key milestone in establishing Emizon as the alarm signalling service for 21st century networks," Mr Tuck concludes.
