Divar XF Hybrid H.264 recorder gets new firmware

Ottobrunn, Germany

Bosch Security Systems has introduced a new firmware release for its Hybrid Divar XF H.264 recording platform offering major improvements.
Simplifying setup and reducing IP camera installation time, firmware release 3.1 provides a fully automated IP discovery and assignment mode. With this mode, the Divar XF automatically scans the network for any connected Bosch IP devices. The user is then presented with the option to either assign the IP device directly to the Divar XF and begin recording or to update/change the IP address. Now IP camera set-up can be accomplished a few simple clicks of a mouse.

The new firmware release also allows IP camera profiles and the detection fields for motion recording to be managed directly from within the Divar XF, eliminating the need for PC-based configuration and management of the IP devices.

In addition, text support (licensed feature) is provided to enable recording of text together with associated video. This is useful for integration with license-plate recognition systems such as Bosch’s REG-Sentry. Information from these systems can be used in parking-lot management or even for facilitating stolen vehicle searches. The text support feature can also be used to help reduce shrinkage and prevent/detect fraud by remotely monitoring ATM or POS transaction data and associated video.

A newly added Smart Search feature will also help to save time by searching only for changes within selected areas of the recorded video.

The Divar XF Hybrid H.264 Recorder is a powerful and highly scalable video management solution that can handle even the most challenging CCTV applications without demanding too much from installers and operators. With its embedded operating system, built-in installation wizards and low maintenance design, the Divar XF works right from the box while delivering a low total cost of ownership.
