China public security budget increases to 128 billion Yuan in 2013

The organisers of the Smart Security Expo to take place in Shanghai in October believe that now is an exciting time for the security industry in China.
According to their findings, the central budget announced on the website of the Ministry of Finance, March 25th, the China public safety budget is up to 128 billion yuan in 2013, an increase of around 10.6 billion RMB on last year, with a growth of some 9%.

Amongst these figures, the budget for the armed police reaches an amount of around 100.6 billion, rising from 9.2 billion on last year, representing a10.2% growth.

At the same time, the public security budget has risen to 14.3 billion yuan, the number of projects has increased by 1 billion yuan on 2012, marking a 7.8% growth. Railway public security funding also has a substantial expenditure increase. There is a 354 million procurement budget, demonstrating a 37 million growth in monetary terms and an 11.7 percentage rate.

In addition to these increasing budgets there is also an increasing trend towards Safe City projects in China. Nowadays, "Smart city" is not only the direction of urban development but also an important thing to national policy . Until now, the investment in smart city projects is over 1.1 trillion, and the total number of smart city constructions is up to 154, say the organisers after consulting the latest Five-Year report from the Chinese Government
