Automatic Systems was the first company to introduce the drive mechanism using a crankshaft-rod device in its rising barriers. The system is still unsurpassed today. It is worth mentioning that in 35 years the company has manufactured over 60,000 rising barriers sold in more than 15 countries.

The crankshaft-rod drive mechanism ensures fast movements, with progressively damped acceleration and deceleration. Average open/close cycles are much shorter with the BL 229. Moreover the synergy between the gearbox and the variable-speed controller produces ever more fluid and silent movements of the barrier, creating an almost "ballet dancer like" effect.
