Advanced hybrid batteries help migration to smarter technologies

Hsinchu, Taiwan

The wearable technology market is rapidly moving past standard cylindrical batteries, demanding energy solutions that are safe, durable, and highly customised to fit complex, ergonomic designs while operating reliably in extreme environments. Devices like smart rings, advanced safety gear, and cold-weather apparel require specialised power sources.

Synergy Scientech Corp, based in Taiwan since 1997, is helping to lead this transition with its Advanced Hybrid Battery (AHB) technology, which delivers high energy density, superior safety, and full customisability. This expertise allows manufacturers to move away from bulky battery compartments and integrate power seamlessly into a device's structure.

For ergonomic devices worn directly on the body, Synergy provides curved, crescent, and miniature cells. These non-traditional shapes maximize comfort and internal capacity for products like smartwatches, headlamp, and safety helmets, ensuring stable power without adding bulk.

Critically, AHB technology is optimised for wide temperature operation. High-capacity square cells, for example, are applied for thermal gear like heated jackets and for industrial monitoring sensors (such as gas sensor), as they maintain critical power output and thermal stability even in sub-zero environments where conventional batteries often fail.

Customised batteries

If an innovation requires a non-standard solution, Synergy can design and produce customised sizes and shapes to meet the exact needs of any sector, including Safety, Smart Wearables, and beyond.

Synergy is also advancing its systems toward solid-state battery technology to fundamentally enhance safety and reliability, offering end-to-end custom design for any unique project requirement.t

The company will be exhibiting at A+A 2025, one of the world's largest and most important events when it comes to safety, security and health at work. This year it will take place in Düsseldorf from 4-7 November 2025.
