Vmobile upgraded for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch from QNAP

Taipei, Taiwan

QNAP Security has unveiled version 1.0.3 of its 'Vmobile' network surveillance application for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
This latest version improves resolution to CIF (320x240) for iPhone in one to two channel display mode and iPad in all channel display modes. In addition, any account on 'Viostor' NVR can connect to an unlimited number of NVR and IP security cameras through Wi-Fi and 3G or 4G networks.

Once connected, users can easily access video management functions such as remote live view and playback recordings. These updates bring even more convenience and peace-of-mind to remote users. The 'Vmobile' application also supports diverse monitoring modes, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 9-channel display modes and sequential display mode.

Other robust features include PTZ and preset position control, instant notification of multiple alarm events, and snapshots. Users can specify channels and alarm events to display. Vmobile logins will retain any predetermined user access authority in the NVR. This feature effectively prevents unauthorized access of certain channels.

"With the increasing popularity of smart phones, remote monitoring ability is becoming more important than ever. QNAP Security believes that the enhancements to the resolution and settings flexibility extensively improve convenience and practicality for users on-the-go," said Andrew Yu, Product Manager at QNAP Security. "From its release in the Apple App Store on March 28, 2011 to April 3, 2011, more than 2,882 users have updated to the Vmobile version 1.0.3. Meanwhile, the number of first-time installations is steadily growing, demonstrating the yet increasing demand of mobile surveillance capabilities. With this in mind, QNAP Security will continue to invest in Vmobile to further develop compatibility, stability, and simplicity to bring its users an unbeatable mobile monitoring experience."

QNAP's 'Vmobile' application for Apple and Android mobile devices and Windows PDA users is currently available for free in the various app stores. The latest firmware version 3.3.2 of Viostor NVR is also available for free on the QNAP secuirty download site.
