Additionally, according to the supplier this new integration can help meet stringent requirements for securing Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF).
"Many of our customers have existing SIA-compliant alarm equipment that they would like to have tied into their Vindicator Command and Control operator environment," said John Waldron, Honeywell Vindicator marketing manager.
"In the past, those customers might have had to replace all of that equipment. But integration with our AlarmNet-i and MX8000 receivers means customers can now monitor their existing alarm equipment from a Vindicator command center, which translates to big savings." The Vindicator V5 Network Security Appliance and associated UHS-NetT network creates an ultra-secure environment for security-system information on a customer's existing facility network. It can transmit and receive encrypted security data over any media: wire, RF, modem, fiber, etc. to the Vindicator Command and Control center operator environment.
The associated field network can be easily expanded or changed to accommodate changing customer environments. Honeywell Vindicator customers include government and military facilities, industrial facilities, utilities, correctional institutes and other high-end commercial end-users. Many Honeywell Vindicator customers have SCIFs - facilities used to store and process extremely sensitive information - on their campuses or within their buildings.
The new integration capabilities will enable customers to install commercial intrusion solutions specifically for SCIFs that can be remotely monitored by the Vindicator solution.
The AlarmNet-i device receives alarm signals through Internet connections, while the MX8000 is a direct dial device that allows up to 36 telephone line connections per receiver. "Standalone security systems are effective, but their value increases when they can communicate with others to form a total solution," Waldron said.
