Skywave simplifies asset control & monitoring

Ottawa, Canda

SkyWave Mobile Communications introduces the SkyWave Versa multi-protocol gateway that will enable solution providers to deliver reliable services for remote asset control and monitoring. Versa simplifies terminal management and reduces the risk of programming errors while accelerating application development and solution time to market.

As the asset management and security market continues to grow, asset owners and managers increasingly demand uninterrupted visibility and control of their remote and mobile assets. Versa is designed to meet the ongoing needs for improved network performance with increased capacity and dependability. Messages can be received by multiple control stations, significantly increasing overall application reliability.

Solution providers who utilize SkyWave's surelinx 8100 integrated D+/GPRS and DMR-200 D+ series of terminals can leverage Versa to deliver increased asset monitoring and control capabilities to end-users at the lowest total cost of ownership. With SureLinx and Versa, solution providers can quickly bring to market valuable, high-availability solutions without the overwhelming task of integrating independent GPRS and SkyWave D+ networks.

"Versa ensures high quality message transmission and predictable coverage, and is ideally suited for applications requiring high levels of security and redundancy," says Solomon Wong, VP Marketing for SkyWave. "Solution provider's applications are no longer limited by single-network coverage or burdened by the inherent complexities of 'do-it-yourself' hybrid solutions."
