Sielox patent approval for CLASS solution

Las Vegas, Nevada

The unique patent approved CLASS software solution dramatically improves emergency notification and response capabilities.

Sielox has received approval from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its non-provisional patent application, filed in support of its CLASS (Crisis Lockdown Alert Status System) solution. U.S. Patent 9299236 was officially issued on March 29, 2016.

On cofirming the approval at ISC West earlier this week, Sielox CEO and President Karen Evans said, “Patent approval of our CLASS solution highlights the value of our technology and is an important achievement for Sielox. It is also extremely gratifying to receive non-provisional approval which represents a more detailed and exhaustive review process that captures the innovative embodiment of the product.”

The unique CLASS software solution dramatically improves emergency notification and response capabilities, saving time and potentially saving lives. Initially designed for the education market, CLASS is also proving to be a highly effective resource to issue alerts and manage all hazards, including threatening situations, inclement weather and more, on campuses, hospitals and for other facilities across a range of markets.

Innovative design features of CLASS that may have helped in securing the patent include real time communication of instructions; dynamic floor plans to pinpoint areas of concern; an audit trail of all events and communications; seamless integration with access control, video surveillance, mass notification and paging systems; and easy adaptability to existing emergency procedures.

CLASS is also designed for ease of use, deployment and training, and can be used for daily events as well as crisis events. It can use existing devices and networks and there are no annual hosting or licensing fees – further contributing to the solution’s low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
